Chapter Nine
“I love your family,” Angelo said as they stepped into the elevator on their way up to Rick’s flat.
Rick glowed. “Yeah, and I think it was pretty obvious they liked you. I thought Mum was going to start adoption proceedings at some point,” he joked. He loved the way his family had taken to Angelo. By the time they were ready to leave at gone seven o’clock, it had felt so natural having him there, laughing and joking with Maggie, talking about his carving with Dad, and complementing Mum on her cooking. Right now, dinner was the last thing on his mind. He had other more pressing matters to think about.
They exited the elevator and walked along the corridor to Rick’s door. When they reached it, Angelo pulled him into his arms and Rick responded without a second’s hesitation. He was eager for the kiss he knew was coming. Angelo pressed him against the door with that firm body as he explored his mouth. Rick let escape the tiniest whimper, hands clutching at Angelo’s back, pushing him harder against him.
Angelo broke the kiss, breathless. “I guess this is goodnight.”
“It doesn’t have to be,” Rick blurted out. In the glow of the wall light, he saw Angelo’s eyes widen. “Do you want to come inside for a while? It’s only eight o’clock.” He waited, stomach churning.
Angelo regarded him in silence for a moment, and then there was that beautiful smile that did strange things to Rick’s insides. “I’d like that.” His voice was barely a whisper.
Rick unlocked the door and led him inside, locking it behind them. “Would you like a drink? I have some white wine in the fridge.”
“Better not. I had wine with lunch, and I still have to get home tonight. But I’ll accept a coffee, if there’s one going.”
Rick smiled. “In this flat there is always coffee.” He went into the kitchen and then called back. “Although it might be heated up coffee from this afternoon. That do?”
“That’s fine.”
Rick busied himself with the coffee in the microwave, trying to ignore the butterflies yet again. “I keep forgetting,” he called out to Angelo, “you’ve already seen my flat.”
He heard Angelo’s chuckle. “To be honest, I didn’t really pay much attention. I was too busy making sure you were okay and trying not to fall asleep in your armchair.”
Rick entered the lounge with the two hot mugs, to find Angelo reclining comfortably on the couch. Rick smiled. “You look like you’re right at home there.”
Angelo regarded him with those dark, sexy eyes. “Come here.” The words were uttered in a husky voice that went straight to Rick’s cock. He put down the mugs on the low coffee table and then moved slowly over to Angelo and sat beside him. Angelo tut-tutted. “Too far away for what I have in mind.” He grabbed hold of Rick and shifted them both, until Rick was lying on top of him, stretched out. Rick stared down at him, lips parted. Angelo smiled.
